親愛的詩人朋友們，

 

你們好！最近，我看到了很多關于四川地震的新聞報道，我感到深深的悲痛，也万分關心那里的人民。我們自己同樣無法預料什么事情會發生在自己身上，所以，面對別人經受的災難，我們會感同身受。

 

我真誠地為那些沒有逃脫災難的人，那些還在掙扎的人們，他們的家人，朋友而祈禱。還有你們，我的詩人朋友們，無論我們的相識多么短暫，我都希望与你們一起分擔這份悲傷。希望我們能夠听到更多人獲救的好消息。

Dear Poet Friends,

 

I have been watching the news about the earthquake in Xichuan province with sadness and concern. We perhaps never know why these things happen to us.

 

My sincere sympathy to all the victims and their families, and to youespecially as I have met you, however briefly.

 

May the future bring us good news for survivors.
